Taiju terms of use

These terms apply when you use Taiju, the body-weight tracking app made by Shaku Labs in Melbourne, Australia. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. Please read them alongside the Taiju privacy policy.
Who can use Taiju
Taiju is designed for adults. You need to be 18 or over to create an account.
Taiju isn’t medical advice
Taiju is a tracking tool. Its trend, pace, goal forecast and BMI figures are estimates to help you see patterns. They aren’t a diagnosis or medical advice, and Taiju isn’t a medical device. If you have a health condition, are pregnant, or are planning a significant change to your weight, talk to a doctor or other qualified health professional.
Your account
- Give accurate sign-up details and keep your password private.
- You’re responsible for what happens in your account.
- If you think someone else has accessed your account, change your password and email support@shakulabs.com.
Using Taiju fairly
Please don’t:
- access or try to access anyone else’s account or data;
- interfere with, overload or try to break Taiju’s security or servers;
- use bots or automated tools to access the service;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
Your data
Your weigh-ins and profile details belong to you. Shaku Labs uses them only to run Taiju for you, as the privacy policy explains. You can export your data from Profile → Export data and delete your account at any time; see Delete your Taiju account.
Taiju’s name and design
The Taiju app, its name, logo and design belong to Shaku Labs. These terms let you use the app for your own personal use; they don’t give you any other rights to it.
Price
Taiju is currently free. If paid features are ever added, the price will be shown clearly before you pay, and you won’t be charged for anything you haven’t chosen.
Changes to the app and service
Taiju is improved over time, so features may change. Shaku Labs may also need to pause the service for maintenance, or stop offering it. If Taiju is ever going to shut down, you’ll get reasonable notice in the app or by email, so you can export your data first.
Ending your use
You can stop using Taiju and delete your account at any time. Shaku Labs may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, and will tell you why where it’s reasonable to do so.
Your rights under Australian law
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that can’t be excluded. Apart from those rights, Taiju is provided as it is, and Shaku Labs doesn’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, Shaku Labs isn’t responsible for indirect losses, or for decisions you make based on the figures Taiju shows.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time, and the date above will change. If a change significantly affects you, you’ll be told in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Taiju after that means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
